A statement regarding our Dec 21 and Dec 31, 2021 voyages

During our Dec 21 voyage, despite the most rigorous protocols in the industry, our ship experienced cases of the Omicron virus.  On December 31, the Argentine Government issued new rules for Antarctic Cruise Ships. These new rules went into effect immediately, impacting both our departing guests at port in Ushuaia, as well as our arriving guests at our hotel in Buenos Aires.

As you might expect, these new rules going into effect suddenly on an international holiday weekend, caused a great deal of confusion. In the interest of safety of our passengers, crew, and staff, we made the painful decision to interrupt our December 31 voyage while we seek clarification on how we may proceed with future departures.  We sincerely apologize for the frustration and confusion this has surely caused, and our team is working around the clock to assist travelers as much as we can.

Incoming passengers are being accommodated at our hotel in Buenos Aires while they reschedule their homeward bound flights. Our departing guests at port in Ushuaia are being transported to Buenos Aries via private jet service. Guests under government quarantine are in local hotels and are being cared for by our ground services team in Ushuaia, in an effort to make their stay as comfortable as possible.

Our entire organization continues to be focused on getting all our travelers home safely, and with as little delay as possible.  We have arranged a series of charter flights from Ushuaia to Buenos Aires for all disembarking passengers and are providing daily support to those in quarantine hotels.

This is an unprecedented and rapidly evolving situation, and we greatly appreciate the patience and good will the majority of both incoming and departing passengers are displaying.
